| A Day in Allied Health 09/18/2013Currently a day in AHT consists of learning medical terms, working on their safety certificate through the Careersafe program and Anatomy & Physiology. In Anatomy & Physiology the students are making their own cadavers. This process is to help the students to learn: the directions (e.g. superior, inferior, distal and proximal); regions of the body (e.g. hypochondriac, lumbar, umbilical and epigastric); the cavities of the body (e.g. cranial, thoracic and pelvic) and also where organs are located in these areas. Our Sport Medicine Instructor, Mrs. Ginny Gontero, came up with the idea and we just borrowed it from her! It’s helped with the hands-on portion of this section in Anatomy. We don’t have the availability of a dissecting lab so this is the next best thing!
